Conformably overlain by the shallow marine sandstones of the Waterford Fm

Main Karoo Basin, South Africa. It is particularly prominent in the western and northern parts of the basin, acting as a fine-grained lateral equivalent to the Ripon Fm and Waterford and Fort Brown Fm found further south and east
